We built the visual identity for Akashic Archives, a digital sample library and experimental music label capturing the forgotten sounds of rare world instruments and producing those still interested in the genealogy of music.
Inspired by the esoteric concept of a "universal memory," the branding treats sound as a physical artifact. We created a design system that reflects the texture, history, and materiality of the source works.
Each release is treated as an archival discovery. Captured in studios and field environments by expert session players, the library preserves unique timbres ranging from Ondes Martenot drones and Nyckelharpa plucks to tape-loop artifacts and tropical bird wails.
